ELMA Core — Tutoring Centre Management ERP

Overview

ELMA Core is a full-stack Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application designed to centralize the academic, administrative, and financial operations of tutoring and education centres.

The platform replaces fragmented spreadsheets and manual processes with an integrated management system covering student enrollment, class scheduling, attendance tracking, invoicing, payment processing, and teacher payroll.

Built around a decoupled Laravel REST API and React Single-Page Application, ELMA Core demonstrates business-oriented software engineering, financial data integrity, and modern frontend architecture.

The Problem

Tutoring centres often depend on disconnected tools to handle student records, attendance, tuition payments, and teacher compensation. This creates repetitive administrative work, inconsistent records, and limited visibility into financial performance.

ELMA Core addresses these problems by bringing essential operations into a unified system.

System Architecture

ELMA Core follows a decoupled client-server architecture.

Backend — Laravel REST API

The Laravel backend handles application business logic, database persistence, authentication, academic workflows, and financial transactions.

Frontend — React SPA

The React application provides a modular interface for interacting with the backend API, combining server-state management, client-side state, and schema-based form validation.

Data Integrity

Monetary values are stored and processed as integer centimes, reducing the risk of rounding errors across invoices, payments, refunds, and payroll calculations.

Backend: PHP 8.3, Laravel 13, Laravel Sanctum, SQLite, DomPDF.

Frontend: React 19, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui.

State & Validation: TanStack Query, Zustand, React Hook Form, Zod.
